Finishes from a family owned company

WCL has been family-owned and operated from the start, with two generations still working in the company to this day. Our family values extend to our community, and to the long-term partnerships we build with clients.

Our Journey

The early years

In 1999, after years in the painting trade, Hamish and Janice Wilton were ready to build a business of their own. So they founded Wilton Contracting Limited.

Frame-to-finish

2020 was a big year for us. We merged with Stop the World Plasterboard Services and became WCL Group, now offering the full wall and ceiling service, from batten to paint.

Factory Coatings

To help make our clients’ projects more efficient and weatherproof, we built one of the largest in-house spray booths in NZ. Saving time and money by pre-coating materials before they hit the site.

Future growth

As WCL evolved, the next generation stepped up. Tim Wilton and Luke Orr became joint managing directors. Led by their vision, our team grew to over 80, and our services grew with them.
